There are two ASICS Core Woven Pants in the range at Tempo, and the gap between them is bigger than it looks. Same piece, same range, two colours, and a £15 difference in price. This is what you get with each, how they size, how they sit over a Gel trainer, and whether to buy the pant on its own or take the tracksuit.
For the wider range, our complete ASICS clothing guide covers every piece from tees up to jackets.
Pants or trousers? They are the same thing
Worth clearing up first, because it sends people in circles. ASICS use the American word: the product is called a Core Woven Pant. In the UK we would normally say trousers, or joggers, or bottoms. If you have searched "ASICS trousers" and found nothing, that is why. There is no separate trouser line hiding somewhere. The Core Woven Pant is it.
"Woven" is the fabric construction in the name, and it is the same word used across the Core Woven shorts, which is a useful signal that the pant is the long version of the same family rather than a thick fleece jogger.
The two colourways
Black Core Woven Pant, £54.99. The one most people want, and priced accordingly. Black bottoms carry everything above them, which matters in a range that includes Lazer Orange and Vital Green tops. If you own or intend to own any of the brighter Core T-Shirts, black is the pant that makes them wearable.
Steel Grey Core Woven Pant, £39.99. Fifteen pounds cheaper, and the better value buy unless you are set on black. Steel Grey is the widest single price gap between two colourways of the same piece anywhere in the ASICS range here, and grey is not a compromise colour. It sits under the Smoke Grey Core T-Shirt for a tonal look, and it has a natural match in the Steel Grey Core Windrunner at £59.99.

Sizing
Both pants run S, M, L and XL, exactly like the rest of the ASICS apparel range here. There is no separate waist or leg measurement to choose, which makes ordering simpler but also means you want to get the size right first time rather than splitting the difference between two.
Check the sizing guide and our ASICS sizing guide before ordering, particularly if this is your first ASICS bottom. Order before 2PM and it ships the same day, so an exchange does not cost you a week.
Wearing them over a Gel trainer
This is the detail people actually care about, because a Gel trainer has real presence on the foot and the wrong bottom half fights it.
The Gel Kayano 14 is the chunkiest silhouette in the trainer range, so it wants a bottom that sits cleanly on top of it rather than bunching above it. Try the hem on with the trainer you intend to wear before you decide whether the pant is working, not with bare feet. It is the single most common reason people think a pair of bottoms does not suit them when the problem is the pairing.
The Gel-1130 is the lower profile option and the easier one to pair, especially in the White Silver or Wild Dove colourways, which both sit well under the Steel Grey pant. If you are undecided on trainers, start with which Gel trainer should I buy or Gel trainers with sets.
Separate, or as part of the tracksuit?
The pant is also available as part of a full tracksuit. The Black Core Tracksuit is £149.99, the Tracksuit Tri-Set is £174.99, and the Steel Grey Core Windrunner Tracksuit is £159.99.
Buy the tracksuit if you want the whole look in one order and you know you will wear both halves together most of the time. That is a real use case and there is nothing wrong with it. Our tracksuit vs set comparison is the place to work out which multi piece option suits you.
Buy the pant on its own if you want it to earn its keep across more outfits. A single Steel Grey pant at £39.99 works under a half-zip, over a Core Vest, or with any of the seven Core tees. That is more wear out of one purchase than a matched tracksuit usually delivers, and it is the argument we make throughout the separates guide.
One practical note: a Black Core Woven Pant at £54.99 plus a Black Core Windrunner at £89.99 comes to £144.98, which clears the £100 free UK delivery threshold. A pant plus a tee does not. Klarna and Clearpay are both available at checkout. Browse everything in the bottoms collection or the full ASICS collection.
Quick answers

The Black Core Woven Pant is £54.99 and the Steel Grey Core Woven Pant is £39.99.
Are ASICS pants the same as ASICS trousers?

What sizes do ASICS Core Woven Pants come in?
S, M, L and XL, the same as the rest of the ASICS apparel range. There is no separate leg length option.
Why is the black pant more expensive than the grey?
Black is priced at £54.99 and Steel Grey at £39.99. If you are not committed to black, the Steel Grey is the same piece for £15 less.
Should I buy the pant or the tracksuit?
The pant if you want one bottom that works with several tops. The tracksuit, from £149.99, if you want the matched look in a single order.
