Nike Trainers
Our Nike trainers range is the P-6000 in two colourways. The P-6000 'Anthracite Chrome' is £139.99 and the P-6000 'Cool Grey' is £149.99. Both are neutral greys, both work with almost anything, and the difference between them comes down to tone and price rather than construction.
The P-6000 is a running-inspired lifestyle trainer. It is built on an older Nike running silhouette, with a mesh and synthetic overlay upper and a low, flat profile that sits close to the ground. That gives it a retro-running look rather than the tall, chunky shape most current trainers have. It is worth being straight about what that means. This is not a running shoe. It does not have the cushioning or support of a current running trainer, and we would not suggest putting miles in it. What it is very good at is being worn. The layered upper looks considered, the branding is small, and the narrow silhouette does not compete with the rest of your outfit. It has also stayed relevant for years rather than one season, which is a reasonable thing to pay £140 or £150 for. Anthracite Chrome is the more practical choice because darker grey hides road dirt and British weather; Cool Grey is cleaner and lighter but will need more looking after.
The P-6000 fits true to size for most people, so order the size you normally wear in Nike trainers. There is one caveat. The toe box runs slightly narrow, a consequence of that long, low shape and the synthetic overlays holding the front of the shoe in. If you have a wide foot, consider half a size up. We would not go further than half a size, because a full size up makes a low-profile trainer look long and lets the heel slip. The mesh sections soften over the first week or two of wear, but the overlays do not stretch, so snug will improve and genuinely tight will not. Sizing is identical across both colourways. Our sizing guide covers conversions.

These trainers pair best with a tapered leg, so the Club Fleece joggers in men's Nike tracksuits are a natural match, and our Club Fleece guide explains the colour pairings. In summer, Nike sets give you shorts that keep the trainer visible. If you need a shoe you can actually run in, our ASICS trainers range is the place to go, and Nike or ASICS? sets out the comparison. Browse the full Nike collection or all trainers.
