The Nike Miler 2.0: Fit, Fabric and Every Colourway

The Miler 2.0 is Nike's short-sleeve running top, and it is the piece most people start with when they buy into the Miler range. It is a simple thing. A lightweight Dri-FIT tee cut for running, with no pattern, no slogan and very little branding. That simplicity is the point. It works on a run and it works off one, which is why it sells as well to people who never run as it does to people who do. You can see the full line-up in the Nike collection.

Dri-FIT is Nike's moisture-wicking fabric technology. In practice that means the top moves sweat away from the skin rather than holding it, so it does not go heavy and cold partway through a run. It is the same technology across all three colourways we stock, so the choice between them is purely about colour.

Below is every colourway we carry, as a standalone tee and as part of a set with shorts.

Every colourway we stock

Colourway Tee Set (tee + shorts) Notes
Black £39.99 £79.99 The safest buy. Hides sweat marks best.
White £39.99 £79.99 Coolest in summer heat. Shows sweat clearly.
Grey Fog £39.99 £79.99 A soft, muted grey. The most versatile off a run.

Black

If you are buying one, buy this one. Black Dri-FIT does not show sweat the way lighter colours do, it goes with everything, and it does not look out of place worn casually. The only downside is heat. Black absorbs more sun than white, which you will notice on a hot day.

White

The best choice for genuinely hot weather, and the sharpest looking of the three worn plain with shorts. Be honest with yourself about sweat though. A white running top shows it, and that is just how it is.

Grey Fog

A muted, slightly washed grey rather than a sports marl. It is the one that reads least like running kit, which makes it the easiest to wear with jeans or joggers when you are not training. It sits well next to the Grey Club Fleece tracksuit if you want a tonal look, and our Club Fleece guide covers that set in full.

The tee or the set?

The tee is £39.99. The set is £79.99 and adds shorts, so the shorts are effectively £40. Bought separately, the Challenger 7in Shorts are £44.99. The set is the better value if you want both pieces, and it gives you a matched top and bottom without having to think about it.

Buy the tee alone if you already have shorts you like, or if you want to try the fit before committing to more. Buy the set if you are starting from nothing. It also crosses the £100 free delivery threshold when combined with almost anything else.

There is also a vest

If short sleeves are still too much in summer, the Miler Vest in white is £34.99, and the matching Miler Vest Set is £79.99. Same range, same fabric approach, less sleeve. Worth knowing about if you run through July and August.

How the Miler 2.0 fits

True to size. Order the size you normally wear in Nike tops. It is a running cut, so it is closer to the body than a standard cotton tee, but it is not compressive and it is not a tight technical fit either. It sits somewhere sensible in the middle.

If you prefer a looser tee for casual wear rather than running, sizing up one is a reasonable choice, but understand that you are then wearing it as a casual top rather than a running one. For actual running, stay true to size. A loose running top flaps.

Our sizing guide has the measurements, and the ASICS set sizing guide is a useful comparison if you already own kit from that brand.

Where it falls short

Two honest points. First, it is a plain tee at £39.99, and if you want visual interest or a graphic, this is not that top. The appeal is that it is unremarkable. Second, it is a short-sleeve top with no wind or water protection at all. For British spring and autumn running, you will want a layer over it, and that is what the Miler Repel Jacket at £89.99 is for. We have covered that separately in our Miler Repel guide.

Building out the range

The Miler pieces are designed to work together, which makes it easy to add to over time. A sensible order: start with a tee or a set, add shorts in a second colour, then add the Repel jacket before winter. If you want the jacket and joggers together instead, the Miler Repel Tracksuit at £164.99 covers both.

Free UK delivery applies over £100, orders before 2PM dispatch the same day, and Klarna and Clearpay are available at checkout. Prices correct at time of writing.

Quick answers

Does the Nike Miler 2.0 fit true to size?

Yes. Order your usual size. It is a running cut, so closer to the body than a cotton tee, but not tight.

What is Dri-FIT?

Dri-FIT is Nike's moisture-wicking fabric technology. It moves sweat away from the skin so the top does not go heavy during a run.

Which colour should I buy first?

Black. It hides sweat, goes with everything and works casually as well as on a run. Grey Fog is the best second buy.

Is the set worth it over the tee?

Yes if you need shorts. The set is £79.99 against £39.99 for the tee, and the shorts alone are £44.99, so you save by buying them together.

Can I wear it for things other than running?

Easily. Grey Fog in particular reads as a normal tee. Size up one if you want a looser casual fit.
